![]() ![]() They we very apologetic when they told us that we could no longer have those dates for our wedding group and suggested they we move our dates a few weeks earlier or later and that they would give us “the wedding of our dreams complimentary” as well as arrange the travel changes with our airlines. He contacted the resort who then had the Sales Manager and Wedding Coordinator phone us to let us know that there was a booking error and the resort was hosting a music festival during part of our dates and even though we had our deposit down for months we would not be able to get married at the resort during those dates anymore. Next, we sent the same questions to an AM resort representative (the Now Onyx parent chain) for Western Canada. Our follow up email to the Group Manager was never replied to. The reply only said our guests joining us from Europe would have to stay at another resort for the first 5 days and come over for our wedding. We sent emails to the Group Manager at the resort asking if room would become available and if we would have full access to the resort during our wedding stay as it seemed to us another large group was booked. ![]() After one of our group booking members requested a room upgrade that was denied due to a lack of room availability, we knew something was wrong. We sent many emails to the resort with questions about wedding packages and prices that went unanswered.Īround March we noticed that the Now Onyx had no available rooms online, which we found odd being we were still months before our wedding date. ![]() We paid a deposit of $300US directly to the resort to reserve our wedding day, as well as a separate deposit of $500CAD to our travel agents to reserve our flights and rooms for about 40 people at the Now Onyx resort. In December of 2016 my fiancé and I decided that we were going to have our wedding at the Now Onyx resort in Punta Cana and submitted the paperwork to reserve the dates of December 1st- December 15th 2017. We never got to stay at the Now Onyx resort, but we feel confident in leaving this one star review based on the nightmare we had trying to book our wedding there. There was a large variety of food at the buffets but would have hoped for more of a variety or even some kind of theme nights. We were not impressed with the Mexican restaurant and did not try the Hibatchi or Italian as we were enjoying the French and Steakhouses the best. Covid screening was more prominent at the Breathless resort. The Wifi was not strong throughout the resort but best in the front lobby. There was minimal wildlife which we always like to see. WEAK POINTS: You could not adjust the temperature in your room and the air conditioners were set almost too cold, but great for sleeping. However expect the whole experience to take a full day but worth every minute of it. We booked an excursion to Saona Island which I would highly recommend to everyone. The hotel was definitely not at full capacity, maybe 80% and found the pool areas to not be crowded at all. Abraham was an awesome poolside server who always brought a smile to your face. A shout out to Aris our Butler for making our restaurant reservations and helping with setting up our PCR testing. There was a wide variety of restaurants at both resorts available to you. The beaches were clean with little to no seaweed in our area. We had the best sleep with their super comfortable mattresses and pillows. Our airport experience both there and back was the quickest experience ever making the whole travel stress free. We highly recommend the Preferred Option, especially having a separate restaurant/bar area for breakfast/lunch. We had access to the Breathless Resort as well, giving you so many options for food, pools, daily activities etc. The resort was lush with so many beautiful pools, swim outs, plunge pools and also infinity pools. We just returned from our vacation at this luxurious hotel. ![]()
